Well, you’ve stumbled across a small corner of our website that I have dedicated to the intersection of my business with my faith. Spoiler Alert: This page doesn’t talk about data or analytics in any way, shape, or form. Feel free to hit the back button now if you think you reached this page in error.
Well, that was an awkward silence, huh? I know most people won’t appreciate this page for what it is intended. Most will say there isn’t any intersection at all, that business should be kept separate from faith, just like it is in schools and government – and I will save that debate for another time. But, perhaps they are right. I can’t say I always do the smart thing every time. The truth is, as a leader, it is easy to fall into the trap of thinking that we made it, that we built it, or I got us here. I mean, I put in all of the hard work, right? My Team sacrificed their sleep and free time to get the project done.
As I have traversed this world for the last 40+ years, I have come to the realization that I didn’t really do any of it. Any talents I have at all are because of Him. Any lucky breaks I have gotten along the way are because of Him. The people I have met along the way, are all because of Him. Any opportunities I have had – also, because of Him. When I listen to Him and give Him his due credit, life becomes so much easier, like there is less resistance. When I try to enact my own will, or deviate from His master plan for my life – to swim against the current so to speak – life becomes so much more difficult. I have had to learn this the hard way, because I am definitely stubborn.
I don’t know yet where I am supposed to end up, or what yet I have to accomplish by His will and grace. I’m still not even sure this page on my business website is a good idea, but this is my witness to the miracles that I have in my life now that I have ceased to continue to swim upstream and let God’s plan for my life unfold. The conceit in men prevent us from acknowledging that we don’t know how it all works, that there are versus in the Bible that we can’t fathom are true or that really happened, or how God works, or how heaven works, or why we are here. All I know is that I am just the co-pilot now, and I was directed to put this page out there. Maybe for just one single person in the whole WWW to read and make a difference. After all, we are battling for souls here. If that is the case, so be it. I can live with that. Thanks for reading to the end. If you would like to read a spectacular book on why people believe, check out this book Know Why You Believe by Paul E. Little. It changed my life. I get nothing by sending you to Amazon to find this book, except crowns to lay at His feet.
